A hybrid with V. rufidulum. Upright in habit with larger leaves than V. obovatum yet smaller than V. rufidulum. Although the buds are much smaller and more refined than that of V. rufidulum, they have retained the rusty red winter color of that parent. Non-fragrant flowers produced in 3½" hemispherical cymes produced in abundance, making it quite showy. Attractive glossy green foliage and a neat, tidy habit. Since this is a rather new introduction and information is not readily available, we are assuming that the ultimate size will be that of the parents. Fruit quantity and color is yet to be determined. Fall color is bright red.
