Collected in the wild in Korea by Dan Hinkley, Heronswood Nursery. Even though much more evaluation is needed to determine if this selection is significantly different that the species, we know the following. 'Heronswood Form' is a compact grower with deep pink buds and abundant, fragrant white flowers. The leaves are dull, grey-green and larger than the species. In University of Georgia trials, the plant bloomed profusely at a young age and ithe inflorescences were up to 4" in diameter (compare to 2-3" on the species). Fruiting is assumed to be that of the species. Ultimate height and width is not yet known but the plant does have a compact habit. Although compact usually relates to a smaller size, keep in mind that a compact habit also refers to growth that is not loose and open, with no reference to ultimate size.
