This is a sister seedling to V. x burkwoodii, raised by Burkwood and Skipwith, England. Evergreen foliage is very glossy and longer and not as wide as other V. x burkwoodii. The flowers are also larger and the buds are a deeper pink. Flowers are reported to last up to 2 weeks but is highly dependant upon temperature and wind conditions. Matures 8-10' high and wide. Currently being used in hybridization by Michael Dirr with V. macrocephalum f. keteleeri and backcrossed with V. utile.
