A more dwarf, compact seedling of V. plic. f. tom. 'Shasta' with all th attributes of 'Shasta' but growing only ½ the size. distinctive horizontal branching maturing 6' tall and 8' wide. The result of a cross pollination of 'Shasta' in 1967 which produced seven seedlings of compact growth. Of these, only one exhibited strong flowering and long persisting fruit. The 5 to 7 outer, sterile, showy florets average ¾" to 1¼" each with 50 to 130 greenish-white fertile flowers in the center. Fruit is red changing to black. Dark green summer foliage turns a dull purplish-red in the fall. A Dr. Don Egolf/National Arboretum introduction in 1987. Zone 5
